‘Responsible AI Futures’ 

Learn from the communities paving the way for Responsible AI development and discover the vital role of the arts & humanities in developing ethical AI futures. 

 

We’re pleased to announce the launch of BRAID x IDI Hybrid Seminar Series ‘Responsible AI Futures’ a partnership programme between the Institute for Design Informatics and Bridging Responsible AI Divides (BRAID).

This new series for the spring takes place March-May 2024, for which we are hosting five wonderful speakers:

Dr Bronwyn Jones, BRAID Translational Fellow and Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Policy Fellow
Dr Elinor Carmi, Senior Lecturer in Data Justice and Social Justice at the Sociology & Criminology Department at City University, London, UK
Dr Fiona Smith, Doctor, AI scientist and currently Research Postgraduate Student at the Centre for Doctoral Training in Biomedical Artificial Intelligence
Dr Emily Postan, Chancellor’s Fellow in Bioethics Deputy and Director of the Mason Institute for Medicine, Life Sciences and the Law
Bhargavi Ganesh, Research Postgraduate Student at the Artificial Intelligence and its Applications Institute and PhD Fellow at the Center for Technomoral Futures

A Feminist Critique to Digital and AI Consent by Dr. Elinor Carmi will present a feminist critique to digital and AI consent and argues that the current system is flawed.
