We are seeking 3 creatives to produce short video reels highlighting their experiences with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in creative practice.

These videos will be featured as part of a series of workshops taking place in the Spring 2025 at the Edinburgh Futures Institute. The workshops aim to explore key areas where creatives need support in navigating AI-powered tools and how educational providers and the industry can better assist them.

Selected creatives will also be welcome to join the workshops to share their expertise and participate in discussions. Their contributions will help shape policies, product development strategies, and training opportunities to support users navigating changes in workflows brought by Generative AI.

Applicant Criteria:

We invite creatives from any area of the creative industries who have experience using AI tools in their practice. We are particularly interested in submissions from those who identify as:

  • Freelancers
  • In-house professionals (including those working in creative agencies, studios, teams)
  • Early career creatives or students
  • Creative managers and leaders

We especially encourage applications from underrepresented individuals in the creative industries.

Applicants should have an interest in how AI tools will shape the future of creative workflows and practices. We seek individuals with a critical approach—neither fully rejecting nor uncritically adopting AI, aware of both its potential and risks.

We are particularly interested in hearing about the specific challenges and barriers that you have encountered while learning to use these tools and how they impact various aspects of your workflow.

Details about the video:

Selected applicants will be required to produce a fully developed and edited video, no longer than 10 minutes in length. The video should be visually compelling and tailored to engage the creative community.

Beyond their inclusion in the workshops, these videos will play a key role in our promotional and dissemination efforts. They will be featured on the project’s websites and across our social media platforms, reaching a wider audience.

Pay:

Creatives will be paid £300.00 for the production and delivery of the video. Rates are based on the indication of the 2024 Scottish Artists Union Rates of Pay.

We will establish right to work and payment method with you prior to the start of the work.
