New Opportunities – Innovation Fellows

The University of Edinburgh is looking to appoint up to three Innovation Fellows, who will have a track record of innovative research and/or translation, and will develop a novel research and translation programme, incorporating strong pathways likely to produce impact of reach and significance. The Institute for Design Informatics is looking to support potential applicants looking to be hosted in our vibrant, designerly and creative, research and innovation community.

The successful Fellow will be expected to develop an academic career based on signature innovation and/or other impact activities across our full range of disciplines, especially those working across different disciplines, who have relevant experience of, or demonstrable potential to, lead interdisciplinary initiatives. We particularly note the potential for applicants to make a key contribution to interdisciplinary research and innovation in one or more of the three University priority research areas:

  • Health and Well-Being
  • Digital and Data
  • Sustainability and Climate Change

The Innovation Fellows are part of the new Edinburgh Career Development Scheme (ECDS). ECDS has three main streams:

  • Career Launch postdoctoral fellowships
  • Diversity Fellowships
  • Innovation Fellowships
