Christie Chan, PhD Candidate

Christie Chan is a PhD student in Design Informatics funded by the SGSAH AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership. Her PhD research focuses on curatorial and digitisation practices that promote linguistic accessibility in the GLAM sector, examining the experiences and multilingual needs of UK-based linguistic minority groups in their engagement with online exhibitions. Christie’s supervisors are Prof. Melissa Terras and Dr Jen Ross.

Christie holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Arts from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and an MA in Art Museum and Gallery Studies from Newcastle University. She is also one of the two co-founders of Art Matters Now, a digital technology-driven curatorial initiative based in the North East of England.
