Diane Lac, PhD Student

Diane Lac is a PhD Candidate at Design Informatics under the supervision of Prof. John Vines and Dr Gareth Clegg at the Usher Institute. Prior to starting her PhD, Diane worked for the Resuscitation Research Group at the University of Edinburgh as the lead researcher for the PADmap study. This study aimed to translate mathematical optimisation of public access defibrillators (PADs) into a digital tool (PADmap) to help decision-makers decide where to best install PADs to increase their likelihood of deployment using a data-driven approach. Her research interests lies in resuscitation, human-computer interaction, and harnessing the power of datasets to empower community decision-making to ultimately improve out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survival outcomes.
