Frances Liddell, Post-Doctoral Research Associate
Frances Liddell is an arts and humanities researcher and a current post-doc research associate on the DECaDE project, which aims to accelerate research in DLTs, AI, and human data interactions through working with industry and end users to explore new tools and techniques.
She has a background in arts management and museum studies, and her PhD research was one of the first empirical studies to examine the impact of blockchain technologies on museum practice. Frances’ research interests focus on themes such as participation, digital materiality, and ownership design and is interested in the way that emerging technologies such as Web3 can challenge and reshape perceptions around value and ownership.
DECaDE recognises this position and asks what can we do to transform this emerging future economy into one that is fair, that has appropriate governance, and maximises opportunites for everyone to create value. How can decentralised platforms enabled by emerging data-centric technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Distributed Ledgers and Blockchain transform our future economy – and the way we work, interact and create value.
