Jacob Sheahan, Research Fellow
Jacob Sheahan is a Research Fellow co-ordinating the Understanding Informal Care Networks project in collaboration with the Advanced Care Research Centre. As a design researcher with a background in industrial and interaction design, Jacob is investigating how data-driven technologies can support healthier, informal networks of care in later life. Focused on constructive participatory methods of design, he’s previously worked on interdisciplinary and collaborative projects partnering with local communities and organisations.
Having studied at RMIT University, where he trained as an industrial designer and completed a PhD focused on developing socially engaging technologies with older Australians, Jacob is a cross-disciplinary researcher interested in collaborations that engage with socially complex contexts from aging to health and safety.
