Srravya Chandhiramowuli, PhD Candidate
Srravya Chandhiramowuli is a HCI researcher and PhD candidate in Design Informatics. Her PhD research examines the work of data annotation for AI, paying particular attention to systemic challenges and frictions, to envision and inform just, equitable futures of AI. Her earlier research work includes socio-technical studies of platform work, datafication in the newsroom, and digitisation in low-resource rural schools. Srravya’s research builds on HCI and STS scholarship, and seeks to shape the design, policies and practices surrounding emerging technologies. Prior to becoming a researcher, Srravya worked in software development, public policy and journalism.
