DCODE is a EU-Funded network of seven world-class higher education institutions and Philips Design Innovation working with stakeholders from industry, government, and civil society.
The DCODE network is a Horizon 2020 Maries Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN). DCODE brings together 40 researchers from 20 countries over four years, with a 4M budget. Diversity and crosscutting attitude are the keys to the approach employed.
Innovative Training Networks (ITN) drive scientific excellence and innovation. They support competitively selected joint research training and/or doctoral programmes, implemented by European partnerships of universities, research institutions, and non-academic organisations. These research training programmes provide experience outside academia, and are funded by the European Commission as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) support researchers at all stages of their careers, regardless of age and nationality. Researchers working across all disciplines are eligible for funding. The MSCA also support cooperation between industry and academia and innovative training to enhance employability and career development.
Activities under this H2020 Pillar aim to reinforce and extend the excellence of the Union’s science base and to consolidate the European Research Area in order to make the Union’s research and innovation system more competitive on a global scale. The Excellent Science pillar has main four specific objectives: The European Research Council (ERC); Future and emerging technologies (FET); Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA); Research infrastructures.
