DI members contributed to AI and Festivals Workshop at the European Festival Association’s Arts Festival Summit

Design Informatics PhD candidate, Emma Dorfman, contributed to a Workshop on AI and Festivals as part of the European Festival Association’s Arts Festival Summit at the Edinburgh Futures Institute, speaking particularly on AI’s role in the future of accessible experience design as this pertains to festivals. Design Informatics Manager Nicola Osborne and CDT in Designing Responsible Natural Language Processing PhD student Amada Horzyk also particited in this Workshop to show three exhibits from the AI for All at the Edinburgh Science Festival. Matjaz Vidmar (Deputy Director & Co-Investigator, The New Real) and James McVeigh (Festivals Edinburgh) joined in the discussion, highlighting the most recent advancements in AI, its potential impacts on festivals, and ethical considerations to carry into the future.
