Elisa Cardamone, PhD Candidate
Elisa Cardamone is a PhD Candidate at the Advanced Care Research Centre (ACRC) of the University of Edinburgh and a Baillie Gifford PhD Fellow at the Centre for Technomoral Futures. She previously completed an MSc in Medical Anthropology at the University of Oxford, where she focused on implanted devices and sensory experience. Elisa combines ethnographic and co-design methods to examine self-care practices in later life and how emerging digital health products and services are reshaping them. She is particularly interested in how narratives and speculative tools can bridge the empathy gap between designers and ageing populations.
